Home remedies for Piles (Haemorrhoids)

Piles, often known as haemorrhoids, are swollen veins at the anus or in the lower rectum that can be painful, bleed, and be uncomfortable. 

Piles are classified into two types based on their location: internal and external. Internal Piles are located inside the rectum and are usually not visible, frequently manifest as rectal bleeding without discomfort or prolapse. While external Piles occur under the skin around the anus and can be felt or seen it may also bleed if thrombosed and could be quite painful. 

There are some remedies to ease the pain and problems in piles. 

Home remedies :there  are remedies that studies show are helpful in treating piles some of them are mentioned below

Lady finger water helps in Piles.

 Lady finger water helps in bowel movement and soothing of the rectal area. Lady fingers or okra are rich in fibre hence improve digestion and lady finger water lubricate and soothe the wall for intestine and lower rectal area.  

Coconut husk with buttermilk

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that can help regulate digestion and reduce gut inflammation.one example is Coconut husk with buttermilk add fibre in diet and improve gut flora hence boost healing. Or you can add basil seeds in buttermilk.

Jatyadi oil

Jatyadi oil is an ayurvedic oil made out of various herbs and oil that are helpful in piles. It helps in pain and burning sensation and elevates itching sensation.

Coconut oil and aloe vera

Aloe vera gel gives a cooling effect and is often used as a skin care product. Also consuming aloe vera gel acts as a laxative.

But rather than jumping or heavy lifting, it's important to choose low-impact exercises like walking, cycling, and swimming. Kegel exercise is a boon for people dealing with piles
  • Water softens stool, preventing constipation and straining when passing the stool, therefore drink lots of it. Additionally, drinking plenty of water is crucial for internal healing and inflammation.
  • Toilet habits: avoid prolonged sitting and straining in toilet  
  • Avoid prolonged sitting and standing

Healthy diet rich in fibre.

 Dietary changes 

  • Probiotics with fiber like basil seeds or chia seeds or coconut husk.
  • Spicy and acidic foods can irritate the digestive tract, including the rectal area, and worsen or aggravate symptoms of piles
  • Consuming more fibre will help soften stools and avoid constipation. Foods high in fibre include fruits, salads, smoothies, and soups.
